Second Blogger Meeting

Lazy Sunday? Not this one! Back in November, I went to my second blogger meeting and we all gathered in Bonnevoie for a morning breakfast at Bouneweger Stuff. I actually forgot to bring my camera along, but I took lots of pictures through Instagram. As you can see from the pictures above the place looks really cosy and it also has a vintage feel to it. Everything looks so stylish yet at the same time effortless. The atmosphere is light and laid-back, after all it is a real stuff (Luxembourgish for living room). It sort of reminds me of Konrad Café in town. And their food is just delicious! A proper place for having brunch! I went for ‚Den Klengkaréierten‘ which includes, scrambled eggs, ham and cheese (they also offer vegetarian and vegan food) and a tiny yogurt-granola-fruit-compote as well as bread, a croissant, and mini-jars with jam, nutella, honey and butter. All in all a lot of food for a yummy and filling brunch!

So if you’re trying to beat the December blues, I’d definitely recommend going to the Bouneweger Stuff!

I fell in love at the seaside

Those of you who follow me on Instagram already know that I will soon visit Brighton again – and I couldn’t be more excited 😀 I’m literally feeling homesick by now. I’ll be there by the end of this month (so in two weeks) but unfortunately I’ll only have time to stay for a long weekend. However, this should be enough to properly and finally catch up with my friends in person again.

I took the following photos last year, roughly  around this time, but I couldn’t published them until now. Funnily enough I’ve never been to the ice rink before. We always wanted to go (every single year) but by the time we settled on a date, the ice rink was already gone. This time I will do some touristy things and visit the Pavilion for the very first time (from the inside) and I’ll also go ice skating. The photos do not only set the perfect Christmas mood, they also show how beautiful and versatile Brighton is.

Ps. I can’t wait to go shopping!! So be prepared for a haul. Hopefully I’ll find some nice Christmas presents to bring home with me too.

Remembering Düsseldorf

Letzten Monat habe ich einen spontanen Trip nach Düsseldorf mit meiner Schwester unternommen. Shoppen für ein verlängertes Wochenende. Es war mein erste Mal in Düsseldorf und es hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Düsseldorf ist ziemlich riesig, mir persönlich erscheint es sogar grösser als Köln und wie das so ist bei Kurztrips ist alles anfangs relativ stressig bis man sich erst ein wenig orientiert und zurecht gefunden hat. Das ging bei Düsseldorf aber relativ schnell da alles super zentral liegt und nicht weit voneinander entfernt.

I might be the worst blogger ever

Hallo ihr Lieben 🙂

Wie lange habe ich jetzt nichts gepost? Für mich fühlt es sich an als wäre es eine halbe Ewigkeit. Ich weiss auch nicht warum ich so lange nichts gepostet habe aber ich denke, dass ich einfach nicht in der richtigen Stimmung war. I seem to be a very moody blogger 😛 Hinzu kam, dass mein Laptop ein riesiges Update verpasst bekommen hat und ich es deswegen für einige Tage nicht benutzen konnte. On the plus side, kann ich jetzt endlich alle meine Fotos auf mein Laptop laden. Stellt euch vor Fotos, die ich seit meinem letzten Urlaub letztes Jahr noch auf meiner Speicherkarte hatte! Endlich sind jetzt alle Fotos auf meinem Laptop und warten sehnsüchtig bearbeitet zu werden (Es sind ja nur 1057 Fotos). Ich denke ein anderer Grund für mein langes Verschwinden ist dieses grässliche Wetter. Es ist saukalt, meistens regnet es und wenn man wetterfühlig so wie ich ist, dann ist die Motivation gleich Null! (Ich arbeite übrigens an einem Post wo ich das näher beschreibe). Wenn ihr irgendwelche Tipps habt wie ihr euch motiviert bekommt, sagt mir gerne Bescheid. Ein anderes Mini-Update ist, dass ich jetzt auch endlich Instagram habe (und schon lange süchtig bin). Ich lade ziemlich jeden Tag ein Bild von meinem Alltag oder meiner Katze rauf, also schaut gerne vorbei.

Mixed Beauty Haul

Essence Spitzer – finde ich spitze: Für grosse und kleine Eyeshadowsticks, spitzt eine schöne Form und hinterlässt kein lästiges Abbrechen. Ausserdem ist er geschlossen und sieht recht stylisch aus.

P2 (hands & nails) Ridgefiller (Oxgen-Carrier) – glättet und gleicht Rillen aus. Sieht schön natürlich und gepflegt aus.

All Round Catrice Cosmetics Concealer – für verschiedene Makel: Hautunebenheiten (beige), Augenschatten (pink), und Hautrötungen (rot). Ich mag die Optik sehr gerne obwohl ich ihn bis jetzt noch nicht richtig verwenden konnte.

Eau Thermale Avène Micellar Lotion – This lotion is a cleanser and make-up remover. You don’t need to rinse it with water (hello lazy) and basically just need a cotton pad. It does take off the (waterproof) make-up but you need to go over it twice. Personally, I wouldn’t buy it again. I think there are much better Avène products on the market.

Daily Makeup Brush Cleaner Sephora – I was looking for an easy product that quickly and thoroughly removes old makeup on my brushes and I found a great one at Sephora. This one was really cheap and it is also anti-bacterial, you only need to spray it 3-4 times onto your brushes, wipe of the makeup excess, let it air-dry and you’re done. Your brush is immediately ready to use. Great purchase, I can only recommend it.

Alverde – Kennt ihr das wenn eure Haare noch schön aussehen aber irgendwie nicht mehr so frisch riechen wie ihr wollt, oder wenn ihr im Restaurant wart und sie jetzt mehr nach Essen als nach Shampoo riechen? Um dem vorzubeugen nehm ich dafür immer Haarsprays die gut duften oder Parfums (obwohl die wahrscheinlech eher schädlich fürs Haar sind). Jetzt allerdings habe ich diesen Haarerfrischer im DM gefunden und ich mag ihn sehr. Klein und pratkisch für unterwegs ist er immer einsatzbereit und duftet herrlich frisch. Zusätzlich versorgt er die Haare mit Feuchtigkeit.

Yves Rocher Eye Pencil – I love these eyeshadow sticks/pencils for sensitive eyes (I don’t have sensitive eyes therefore I can’t judge that aspect of it). They’re great, long-lasting and are nice and shimmery. I believe they c0me in 4 shades. My favourite one is Rose Taupe. I also like to use them as a sort of base, or to mix them with other colours and eyeshadows.

L’Occitane en Provence Whipped Hand Cream – Whipped – ‚mousse-like‘ hand cream with shea butter! It’s whipped! I love it, the texture is so cool and really soft and creamy. It’s actually addictive for handcream lovers. Unfortunately this was a limited edition.

L’Oréal Paris Perfect Match Foundation – Is this one the same as the ‚L’Oréal True Match Foundation‘? Maybe ‚Perfect Match‘ is the French title, and ‚True Match‘ the English one. (Why do I even bother? Because I’m a linguist.) Doesn’t make sense to me but anyway – let’s move on. I really like this one. It’s different from my regular foundation (Avène Couvrance Correcteur Fluid Foundation Corrector Oil-free 02 Sensitive Skin) in the way that it is lighter. It leaves a soft satiny but matte finish but also covers imperfections. It can be built up to medium coverage.
