Those of you who follow me on Instagram already know that I will soon visit Brighton again – and I couldn’t be more excited 😀 I’m literally feeling homesick by now. I’ll be there by the end of this month (so in two weeks) but unfortunately I’ll only have time to stay for a long weekend. However, this should be enough to properly and finally catch up with my friends in person again.
I took the following photos last year, roughly around this time, but I couldn’t published them until now. Funnily enough I’ve never been to the ice rink before. We always wanted to go (every single year) but by the time we settled on a date, the ice rink was already gone. This time I will do some touristy things and visit the Pavilion for the very first time (from the inside) and I’ll also go ice skating. The photos do not only set the perfect Christmas mood, they also show how beautiful and versatile Brighton is.
Ps. I can’t wait to go shopping!! So be prepared for a haul. Hopefully I’ll find some nice Christmas presents to bring home with me too.
Isn’t this beautiful? As you can tell from these pictures the Müllertal, or the little Switzerland of Luxembourg, how it is often called is a wooden idyll of peace and quietness, the perfect way to escape daily worries. Its hilly scenery, and the unmistakable combination of stony rocks and soil erosion make it a popular leisure excursion. It’s not far away from the centre of Luxembourg, the Müllertal offers a variety of activities for young and old: cycling trips, hiking, jogging, walking with dogs etc. It is also a great place for romantic dates. For me personally, the Müllertal is one of my most favourite spots in Luxembourg. These are my favourite photos I took this summer. It was very difficult to choose as you can tell 😉 Have a nice evening! xx
Viel Spass xx

These photos were taken last year at “Kierchberg”, a quarter in Luxembourg City which is home to international banks, a cinema (Utopolis), an exhibition and congress centre (Luxexpo), a museum of modern art (Mudam), a popular shopping centre (Auchan), a national sports and culture centre (Coque) and a hospital. They show the classical concert hall called Philharmonie as well as other buildings and offices. As you can tell these photos differ from from my usual photographic style as I normally don’t take photos of modern buildings, but I definitely enjoyed taking them.
At the coffee shop, I fall in love with people
who linger over their drinks
who gaze outside of windows,
deeply lost in their thoughts.
But by the time I get up and speak to them
They are long gone.*

As I’m no longer studying in Brighton I miss this place and my friends I met there more and more each day. Even though I’m happy and really busy here in Luxembourg I do miss living on my own and strolling around the beach after a long day at the library. So for anyone who’s looking for a laid-back and relaxing (WE) trip I’d definitely suggest Brighton, which is only one hour away from London. There will be a post about Brighton soonish.
I also miss spending a lot of time in Starbucks and having my regular hot chocolate with cream. Starbucks is just the perfect place for people who seek inspiration, for catch-ups with friends and or mostly for simply observing strangers passing by. The following passage is something I wrote some time ago:
It’s a well-known cliché: the wannabe writer sitting at the coffee shop around the corner with their drink and laptop whilst typing away on their keyboard errr novel. There’s something about its atmosphere that makes Starbucks so incredibly popluar for young and old. Is it their wide range of hot and cold beverages, their breakfast/lunch snacks or is it simply the people that give Starbucks its warm and intimate character? I don’t know but I’ll go back enough often to find out eventually.
When I was younger the coolest place in town I knew was the coffee lounge in Luxembourg city. I haven’t been there in ages, but at the beginning of summer I met with a friend and she suggested to have lunch there. I was immediately up for it, knowing through their facebook page, that it had undergone some change. When we arrived I felt like back in the old days: the three level food and coffee place is still quite narrow, the interior is still pretty much the same – modern with wooden details, and outside students as well as business people are still tucked up in warm blankets with their drinks. But one thing has definitely improved: their bagel card! I feel like they offer a bigger, more adventurous variety of bagels and all of their creations sound super-delicious. I had a bagel with ham, ruccola, goat cheese (Mr Big, first picture) – yum!!
ps. I enjoyed my bagel so much that I had to return the following day with my family ^^
Hallo meine Lieben,
