Neal’s Yard – Covent Garden, London

I love traveling solo and discovering new places! It doesn’t always have to be a far-away, exotic destination; it could also be a close neighbourhood you’ve always passed by but never actually been to before. Armed with my camera, sunglasses and a day-travel card I felt safe enough to further explore London on my own. Despite the occasional moments of feeling lost, I did a really good job (thanks to the numerous maps scattered all around London) and managed to see a new side of London’s endless variety: Neal’s Yard.
Hidden only a few streets away from the touristy Covent garden piazza, Neal’s secret courtyard is full of bright colours and several health food cafés. The first Neal’s Yard Remedies shop opened in 1981 in Covent Garden and specialised in alternative and natural herbs, oils and remedies. Offering a sharp contrast to the rest of Covent Garden – which is kept rather classic and unicoloured – this vividly multicoloured yard is the perfect spot for a quick spiritual vogage to Bob Marley’s Jamaica!
